Hey, everyone. Welcome to Episode 5. Just wanted to share a couple thoughts on your commute to and from work every day. It's a lot of time. Some of you, it's an hour each way. Some of you, it's 10 minutes each way. Some of you work from home. So maybe this is your commute to drop off your kids at school or to go to the grocery store. But most of you have a commute to work. And I just want to talk a little bit about how to be intentional with your time in your car or on the bus. And I'm going to share a clip that I recorded during my commute on my phone safely. I had it on speakerphone, just recording it, so my eyes were on the road. And yeah, I just recorded a couple thoughts on how to not waste your commute. So I hope you find this helpful. Again, thanks so much to everyone who has listened and subscribed to the podcast, and those who have reached out and thanked me and sent encouraging notes. Each and every one of you who have left a review on iTunes, I still haven't cracked the top 100 in the business podcasts top list. But I've gotten to 108, I believe, and I'm really excited if I kind of find competition and a challenge fun. So I'm really working hard to break that top 100 list and crack that list. So I appreciate any reviews or ratings you can leave. Share this with assistant friends that you have or executives who have assistants if they need ideas on how to improve their relationship with their assistant. And yeah, we're scheduled. I've scheduled a couple of interviews coming up, really excited about and we're going to record those and edit those and get those published as soon as possible. So yeah, check out this clip from my commute about how to not waste your commute. What are you doing with the time you have in your car or on the bus or on the train to and from work? Are you scrolling through Facebook and Twitter with a sort of mindless endless void of social media? Or are you reading? If you're not driving, if you're riding a bus, are you reading? Are you listening to an audiobook? Are you listening to podcasts? Are you using the quiet to think about what you need to do for the day, or to just kind of hit reset on the whole task list, fast-paced world around us? What are you doing with your commute? I just wanted to encourage you to be intentional with it. Try some different things out. Try being quiet all the way to work and see how that makes you feel when you get in to the office. Try listening to an audiobook that is maybe personally energizing to you. Maybe it's not even a business practical book. Maybe it's just energizing to you. Listen to a podcast. Maybe you're listening to this podcast. Listen to other podcasts. Don't just listen to assistant podcasts. Listen to leadership podcasts. Listen to business ones. Listen to podcasts that CEOs and executives and entrepreneurs listen to. The point is just be intentional and try different things. Really make good use of the time you have on the train, on your way to work, in your car, on the way home. And see how that changes your productivity, your focus. Don't get distracted by, again, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, feed while you're sitting on the train. Make good use of this time. And even listening to the radio sometimes, there's so many advertisements on the radio, on your way to work that you may have a 25-minute commute, and 15 of those minutes are just listening to ads. It's kind of mind-numbing advertisements. So again, just be intentional. Check out an audiobook. Try some silence. Try some podcasts. Do something with your commute. In other words, don't waste your commute. Thanks again for listening, everyone. Hope that was helpful. Don't waste your commute. So Administrative Professionals Day is on April 24th. It's coming up soon. And I just wanted to let you all know that I have a discount on my How to Manage Constant Interruptions online course just for the rest of the month of April. You can check out information on that course at goburrows.com. And yeah, I would love to have you join. I go through 10 ways to manage and deal with interruptions that we all face day in and day out. So check that out, and hope to talk to you soon.
