Assistant Habits – A Weekly Action Planner for Executive Assistants

I'm taking a break from interviews this episode so I thought I'd share a resource for growth-minded assistants like you.

The Assistant Habits Weekly Planner is now available in multiple formats and is designed to help you lead well through consistent action. In many ways, Assistant Habits is a rebirth of my very first resource for assistants: the 30-Day Assistant Challenge email course. That original course was built on a simple belief – that small, consistent actions compound into real growth. Assistant Habits carries that same idea forward, one action at a time. My passion is to help assistants like you lead well, resist burnout, and automate before you're automated and every action in the Assistant Habits Weekly Planner reflects that mission. Each challenge is practical, specific, and immediately useful on the job.

Hey friends, welcome to the show. It's your host, Jeremy Burrows, and I'm taking a break from interviews this week. One, because I have a few scheduled coming up, but nothing in the hopper. And two, because it's nice to take a break every once in a while because scheduling and recording and editing and uploading interviews... It is a lot of work. So anyway, I am excited to share a little bit about a new resource, though, that I created just for you.

0:52

A couple months ago, I built an app called Assistant Habits, and it's designed to help you lead well through consistent action. In many ways, the Assistant Habits app is a rebirth of my very first resource that I created years ago for assistants called the 30-Day Assistant Challenge email course. So this 30-Day Email Challenge was built on a simple belief that small, consistent actions compound into real growth.

1:23

And so The Assistant Habits app carries that same idea forward, one action at a time, one daily action every weekday to help you lead well, resist burnout, and automate before you're automated. So every action in the Assistant Habits app is automated. Really built around that mission that I have to help you lead well, resist burnout, and automate before you're automated. And they're designed to be practical, specific, and immediately useful on the job.

1:56

So that was the app. I built the app. Many of you have signed up and started tracking your daily actions, starting to build a streak, And build momentum as you develop your leadership habits, which is awesome. So you can check out the app at assistanthabits.com . But I also just launched a new resource under this umbrella and this idea of building your leadership habits. And it's called the Assistant Habits Weekly Planner. And so this is a planner that is in multiple formats.

2:29

It's in a interactive digital format, as well as physical formats. But it's a weekly action planner to help assistants like you build leadership habits. The app Again, it's obviously a digital web-based app where you can track your streak and you can build momentum and it surfaces an action every weekday. You can also pause your streak if you're going on vacation. That way you can pick up where you left off when you return. But that's again, that's a daily action app. But I know a lot of us are, us assistants especially, are planner fans.

3:05

And we like to have a physical planner to take notes and keep track of our weekly schedule. So this is a different format. Instead of a daily action, it gives you one action every week. The weekly planner is built for 2027. Now, there is a digital version that has the end of 2023. Six so that you can just go ahead and start. The interactive digital version allows you to use a stylus to take notes. It works well with remarkable tablets or the GoodNotes app or planner for iPad and other note taking apps on your tablet.

3:42

And information is on the website as well for that. But then I also have a wire bound lay flat paperback version. And this version is nice because obviously some of us like to physically write notes and have it alongside us at our desk as we plan our week. And so there's a weekly planner paperback version, but there's two versions actually. And many of you might have chimed in on my LinkedIn post about which design you prefer, whether that's open space or

4:14

Where there's open space in each day's box for maximum flexibility. So you can write however you think with emojis and stickers and large handwriting, whatever you like. But then there's also a guidelines paperback version. And the guidelines in each day's box help structure your notes and keep them tidy. And then there's also a notes box that has kind of a dot grid in the notes section so you can kind of draw and and do some connect the dots sketches if you want or you can write in those dots however you prefer so check out the

4:47

guidelines version of the paperback or the open space version of the paperback right now there's an 8x10 option for each and then again the interactive digital version I'm trying to work on a small version of the planner, but it's going to require a lot more pages to fit the whole year in. So we're TBD on that one. Stay tuned. But assistanthabits.com , you can click the app and learn more about that. Or you can click weekly planner. And then, yeah, weekly planner versions, interactive digital, 8x10 spiral bound paperback with lay flat open space format or lay flat with guidelines if you

5:27

prefer. So there's pictures and images and everything on the website to help you figure out which one works best for you. So thanks for tuning in to the podcast. Thanks for sticking with me throughout all these years. This is episode 391. You can check out the show notes at leaderassistant.com/391. I'll link to the Assistant Habits app and planner in there, of course. Or again, just go directly to assistanthabits.com and check out the app and the weekly planner.
